11 Super Councils are now a step closer to reality here in the Six Counties. The new Super Councils will replace the current 26 District Councils which have existed here since 1973. The new Super Councils will have a total of 462 wards each representing a seat on the Council. This will mean 120 less councillors than we have at present. District electoral commissioner Dick Mackenzie has recommended that there should be 36 five-ward electoral areas, 26 six-ward areas, and 18 seven-ward areas.
