The SDLP are now to support the TUV victims bill. After being put under pressure by their former Deputy First Minister Seamus Mallon and the former Agriculture Minister Brid Rodgers. The bill would ban anyone who has been sentenced to five or more years in jail from holding a job as a special advisor to a Government Minister. After much political soul searching the SDLP decided to take the side of the most right wing Unionist in the Assembly.
